Equipped with a ventilator, defibrillator, ECG, and other critical devices, the ambulance transmits live patient data to doctors via a WhatsApp link.

In a move to boost emergency medical response, Zenzo, a private emergency healthcare provider, has launched a large-scale aggregated ambulance network across Delhi NCR in collaboration with the Delhi Traffic Police.

With 671 ambulances mapped by pin code, the system aims to reach patients in less than 15 minutes, enhancing the region's emergency readiness. The service is accessible through a single toll-free helpline—1-800-102-1298.

Based on the caller's location, the system identifies and dispatches the nearest available ambulance, reducing delays in medical assistance. Zenzo's tech-driven model currently operates over 25,000 ambulances in 450 cities and towns across India.

Zenzo has introduced standardized pricing across the region. A Basic Life Support ambulance costs INR 1,500 for the first five kilometers, while a Cardiac ambulance costs INR 2,500. The aim is to eliminate last-minute cost surprises and ensure fair, predictable rates for essential services.

Integration of 5G Technology for Real-Time Care

The initiative also features India's first operational 5G ambulance, which allows real-time patient monitoring en route to hospitals. Equipped with a ventilator, defibrillator, ECG, and other critical devices, the ambulance transmits live patient data to doctors via a WhatsApp link.

This allows physicians to monitor the patient's condition in real-time and guide the paramedics on immediate interventions.

Sweta Mangal, co-founder and CEO of Zenzo, explained that while ambulance arrival time might be within 15 minutes, hospital travel could take 30 to 45 minutes.

The 5G-enabled system bridges this gap by facilitating early diagnosis and treatment, often before the patient reaches the hospital. Currently, one such ambulance is active, with four more expected to launch soon.

Collaboration with Police & Public Sector

The launch event at India Habitat Centre saw participation from senior Delhi Traffic Police officials, some of whom demonstrated CPR skills gained during training provided by Zenzo.

The company plans to continue working with traffic police, corporates, and logistics platforms to train more individuals in basic life-saving skills.

Zenzo has collaborated with bodies like the National Highways Authority of India, the National Health Mission, and several state health departments.

Its corporate partners include Cipla, Abbott, P&G, Decathlon, and Nestlé. The company also works with food and mobility platforms such as Swiggy, Zomato, Uber, and Rapido to train riders and staff in first aid and CPR.

Complementing Existing Emergency Services

While the Delhi government's Centralised Accident and Trauma Services (CATS) currently offers free ambulance services, response times have increased from 13 minutes in 2014 to 17 minutes in 2023, according to a recent CAG report.

Mangal stressed that Zenzo's goal is not to compete but to collaborate with CATS to strengthen the city's emergency ecosystem.

With 1,72,890 road accident deaths reported in India in 2023 and Delhi recording the highest urban fatalities (1,457 deaths), the need for swift, reliable emergency care is more pressing than ever.

Zenzo's initiative seeks to close this gap by integrating advanced technology with a human-first approach to emergency response.
