The initiative is part of the company’s efforts to strengthen emergency medical services nationwide.
Emergency response service provider Zenzo has launched a network of 25,000 private ambulances across 450 cities in India, aiming for an ambulance response time of under 15 minutes.
The initiative is part of the company’s efforts to strengthen emergency medical services nationwide.
As part of its expansion, Zenzo has partnered with delivery platforms such as Zomato and various e-commerce and mobility companies to promote awareness on emergency responses, medical first aid, and CPR training.
These collaborations focus on training delivery personnel, often first responders, in life-saving techniques.
"Zenzo's core mission is to 'Make India Emergency Ready' by harnessing digital technology to build a robust medical emergency service infrastructure. We aim to provide the largest network of validated ambulances across the country through a nationwide toll-free number, 1800 102 1298," said Zenzo co-founder and CEO Sweta Mangal.
The service is paid, and pricing is standardized across India. The charges for a basic ambulance start at INR 1,500 for the first 5 km, with an additional INR 50 per km thereafter. For a cardiac ambulance, the cost is INR 2,500 for 5 km, followed by INR 100 per km.
To enhance access to emergency medical services, Zenzo is collaborating with hospitals, local authorities, corporates, and private ambulance fleets. The company emphasizes ensuring the availability of life-saving equipment and trained medical professionals.
"Going forward, looking at the demand, we will keep adding ambulances and cities. The project, with a funding of ₹5 crore, was supported through internal accruals," Mangal added.
