Waystar Expands Google Cloud Collaboration to Advance AI-Driven Autonomous Revenue Cycle
The collaboration will integrate Google Cloud’s Gemini large language models and hyperscale infrastructure with Waystar’s AI-powered platform to automate complex payment workflows.
Waystar has expanded its collaboration with Google Cloud to accelerate the development of agentic artificial intelligence capabilities aimed at advancing autonomous revenue cycle management in healthcare.
The collaboration will integrate Google Cloud’s Gemini large language models and hyperscale infrastructure with Waystar’s AI-powered platform to automate complex payment workflows.
The partnership focuses on strengthening Waystar’s AltitudeAI platform, which combines financial and clinical data with generative and agentic AI embedded directly into revenue cycle operations. By leveraging Google Cloud’s infrastructure and AI models, the companies aim to enable large-scale deployment of automation across revenue cycle processes such as prior authorization, coverage identification, and denial prevention.
Waystar operates a payer–provider–patient network serving more than one million healthcare providers. The company captures and processes large volumes of financial and clinical data generated across healthcare transactions, which it uses to train AI models designed to improve payment accuracy and operational efficiency. The platform analyzes downstream payment outcomes and applies insights to upstream processes to reduce claim denials and streamline reimbursement workflows.
“Waystar’s AI advantage comes from our unique position within healthcare’s payment ecosystem, where we capture critical financial, clinical, and administrative intelligence across more than one million providers,” said Matt Hawkins, chief executive officer of Waystar. “Our partnership with Google Cloud accelerates our efforts, adding infrastructure and advanced models that amplify our impact and speed to market.”
Through the expanded collaboration, Waystar will increase the use of Google Cloud’s Gemini models to support agentic AI capabilities that can execute tasks within revenue cycle workflows. The integration is expected to support automation across the claims lifecycle and enable new use cases that combine financial and clinical data to optimize payment processes.
“The true potential of AI in healthcare isn’t just in analyzing data, but in its ability to take precise, automated action within complex financial ecosystems,” said Aashima Gupta, global director of Healthcare Strategy and Solutions at Google Cloud. “By embedding Gemini’s agentic capabilities directly into Waystar’s workflows, we are moving past automation toward a self-learning revenue cycle.”
Waystar and Google Cloud first partnered in early 2024 to apply generative and agentic AI technologies to healthcare payment operations. In 2025, Waystar introduced generative AI capabilities for denial prevention and recovery through its AltitudeAI platform. According to the company, the system has helped prevent more than $15 billion in denied claims within a year and reduced the time spent on denial appeals and recovery by 90%.
