This collaboration addresses the growing demand for cardiologists and the increasing gaps in specialist care.
US-based GuideHealth, a prominent value-based care company, has joined forces with telehealth specialist Story Health to address the growing demand for cardiologists and the increasing gaps in specialist care.
Through this partnership, GuideHealth’s health systems and clinically integrated network can now access Story Health’s virtual cardiology care. This value-based collaboration aims to provide patient-centered cardiology care and ongoing support between visits.
Both companies anticipate that the partnership will enhance patient outcomes and lower health system costs, especially as major cardiac episodes often result in emergency room visits.
Sharing thoughts, GuideHealth cofounder and CEO Sanjay Doddamani., said, “Adding Story Health to our ecosystem allows providers to exceed their care quality goals and ensures patients aren’t waiting to receive ongoing care.”
Founded in 2020, Story Health offers virtual cardiac care to assist patients with heart-related conditions such as heart failure, hypertension, and arrhythmia. The service provides health coaching, which educates patients about their conditions, thereby reducing the burden on providers.
Additionally, Story Health employs remote physiologic monitoring to gather relevant data for cardiologists.
GuideHealth, on the other hand, supports health systems through its HealthGuides, which collaborate with clinical staff on prior authorization and in-network referrals. The AI-native workflow also helps clinicians identify high-risk patients.
Per the partnership, HealthGuides will refer qualifying patients to Story Health’s cardiology program, where health coaches will maintain patients’ cardiology care.
Commenting on the same, Nita Sommers, cofounder and president of Story Health, said, “We are thrilled to partner with GuideHealth to extend the care PCPs in value-based arrangements can provide to their patients by delivering a new model of direct specialty care."
In December, GuideHealth acquired Arcadia's managed service organization and value-based care service division to enhance its tools and services for providers.
Additionally, GuideHealth is partnering with Arcadia to utilize the company's data analytics platform for its newly acquired offerings.
In related developments, Germany-based pharmaceutical giants Bayer and Evotechave have joined forces to develop innovative precision treatments for cardiovascular diseases (CVDs).
The partnership seeks to tackle the pervasive challenges of CVDs and address the pressing medical needs within cardiovascular health.
Further, the collaboration will identify and validate novel targets for treating cardiovascular diseases.
