Unicorn Incubator & BFI Sign MoU to Bring Korean Healthtech Solutions to India

Under the collaboration, the two organizations plan to establish a structured pathway to introduce South Korean technologies into India, with a focus on healthcare innovation.

Unicorn Incubator, a member of the Federation of Korean Industries and a startup business accelerator in South Korea, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Blockchain For Impact (BFI) to support the expansion of Korean Healthcare technology solutions in India.

The MoU was formalized in the presence of India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, and South Korea's Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, JeongKwan Kim, during a recent event in New Delhi.

The partnership is aimed at advancing cross-border collaboration while strengthening healthcare innovation ecosystems in India and South Korea.

Under the collaboration, two organizations plan to establish a structured pathway to introduce South Korean technologies into India, with a focus on healthcare innovation.

The partnership combines Unicorn Incubator’s access to research and development networks in Seoul with BFI’s funding capabilities to support deployment and scaling.

Additionally, the initiative is expected to focus on key areas such as advanced medical technologies, including AI-based diagnostics, robotic systems, and biomedical solutions.

Further, it also seeks to support the adoption and commercialization of these technologies to address healthcare challenges in India.

Founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, BFI operates as an impact fund focused on enhancing healthcare infrastructure, supporting biomedical research, and developing medical technologies in India.

Unicorn Incubator will utilise its existing accelerator framework to support market entry and localisation.

The organisation has previously supported startups across sectors such as mobility, agritech, and medtech, and collaborates with institutions including FITT IIT Delhi, SIIC IIT Kanpur, and IIM Lucknow EIC.

As per reports, the operational support for the project is expected to be facilitated by the Korea-India Tech Sangam Center, which manages cross-border technology transfer, and the Tech Marwari initiative, which connects South Korean firms with Indian talent for local execution and scaling.
