UC Health Appoints Ben Patel as VP & Chief Technology Officer
Patel brings over 28 years of experience in IT leadership, including more than 22 years dedicated to healthcare information technology.
UC Health has announced Ben Patel's appointment as its new Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, effective July 22, 2025.
Patel will lead the organization’s information technology efforts, focusing on strengthening UC Health’s digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and clinical technology systems.
In this role, Patel will work closely with UC Health leadership, clinical teams, and operations to align digital initiatives with the health system’s broader strategic goals, including patient-centered care, operational efficiency, and workforce development. He will oversee the Information Services & Technology (IS&T) group and play a key role in ensuring UC Health’s digital tools and services effectively support clinicians and patients.

Patel brings over 28 years of experience in IT leadership, including more than 22 years dedicated to healthcare information technology. His background spans multiple healthcare systems, where he led digital strategy and operations to improve clinical outcomes and patient experience.
His previous roles include Chief Information Officer positions at Cone Health, Sinai Health System, and APM Health. He has received several industry recognitions, including the InfoWorld Top 100 IT Award in 2009, and was named to Becker’s “100 Hospital and Health System CIOs to Know” from 2019 through 2023.

Patel holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from DePaul University and an MBA from Pittsburg State University. He also earned an Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare certificate from the MIT Sloan School of Management and currently serves on the advisory board of Stellar Health.
As part of the Digital Health Systems (DHS) team, Patel will lead efforts to modernize IT operations, strengthen digital security, and optimize tools that support clinical workflows and hospital operations. His role will be central to supporting UC Health’s mission of advancing medicine and improving the health of communities across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
