Telangana Announces Major Healthcare & Life Sciences Investments

Alongside discussions on real estate, finance, manufacturing and other industries, healthcare and life sciences emerged as a major focus area.

The Telangana Rising Global Summit has reported investment commitments worth ₹5,39,495 crore over two days, with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy holding back-to-back meetings and MoU signings across sectors.

Alongside discussions on real estate, finance, manufacturing, and other industries, healthcare and life sciences emerged as a major focus area.

Day 1 registered ₹2,43,000 crore, while Day 2 added ₹2,96,495 crore across multiple sectors, including industries, information technology, power, tourism, sports, and forestry.

Among the key healthcare announcements, Hetero Group proposed ₹1,800 crore for large-scale pharmaceutical formulation units. The company has sought 100 acres and projects 9,000 direct and indirect jobs over the next two years.

Bharat Biotech outlined plans for a Contract Research, Development, and Manufacturing Organisation facility with an investment of ₹1,000 crore. The project is expected to add more than 200 direct jobs over the next three to four years.

Aurobindo Pharma proposed ₹2,000 crore to expand its capabilities in complex generics, injectables, biosimilars and biologics. The company projects more than 3,000 direct and indirect jobs over two to three years.

Granules India proposed ₹1,200 crore for peptide manufacturing and a CDMO oncology facility at Green Pharma City. The proposal includes a request for 100 acres and is expected to create 2,500 to 3,000 direct jobs over three to four years.

Biological E Ltd announced vaccine, research, and CDMO facilities with ₹3,500 crore in new investment. With an earlier ₹500 crore already committed, total investment now stands at ₹4,000 crore. The project seeks 150 acres and will create 3,000 direct jobs over the next five years.

In health innovation and biotech research, BioVaram proposed a Centre for Excellence focused on tissue engineering, regenerative medicine and cell and gene therapy. Vizzhy Holdings outlined plans for a multi-omics and precision health research facility, working with Pitts researchers and hospitals in Telangana.

Alongside these sectors, the state also confirmed major sporting events with high-performance training elements. Telangana will host the FIFA-AIFF Football Academy (Men’s), the International Hockey Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2026 featuring 24 matches among eight countries, and the Asia Rowing Championship 2026 with participation from 18 nations. The Hyderabad International Chess Festival 2026 will also take place in the state.
