SSO Cancer Hospital & EPIC Hospital Launch Qure.ai’s AI Tool for Early Cancer Detection
The AI solution has been integrated into oncology workflows to accelerate diagnosis and improve patient outcomes.
Specialty Surgical Oncology (SSO) Cancer Hospital, in partnership with EPIC Multispecialty Hospital, Ahmedabad, has launched Qure.ai’s AI tool for early cancer detection.
The AI solution has been integrated into oncology workflows to accelerate diagnosis and improve patient outcomes.
The launch took place during the Seminar on Surgical Innovations in Cancer, which brought together leading surgeons, technologists, and healthcare leaders to discuss the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic-assisted surgery in advancing cancer care.
The AI-based tools deployed at SSO Cancer Hospital are capable of identifying minute abnormalities such as lung nodules, breast microcalcifications, and liver lesions that may be overlooked by the human eye. This allows for earlier diagnosis and timely intervention, significantly improving patient survival rates.
At SSO Cancer Hospital, Qure.ai’s tools have already been incorporated into diagnostic processes. They can automatically detect pulmonary nodules smaller than 6mm on routine chest X-rays, even when scans are conducted for unrelated reasons. Detected cases are promptly linked to thoracic surgeons, pulmonologists, and oncologists for early evaluation and potential curative treatment.
Dr. Sanket Mehta, founder and surgical oncologist, SSO Hospitals, said, “Here, AI is a force multiplier at SSO since it is more than a technology. It improves human judgment, making us able to diagnose quicker, plan better, and perform with exceptional accuracy. Together with robotics, AI bridges between early detection and accurate intervention—two pillars that characterize the modern care of cancer.”
Additionally, in surgical procedures, AI supports robotic systems by generating 3D visual roadmaps from scans, guiding surgeons with millimeter-level precision to minimize risks and improve recovery outcomes.
Dr. Anil Jain, founder director, EPIC Hospital, added, “AI is assisting us to transform information into actions and accuracy into practice. This partnership between EPIC and SSO will be the future—hospitals, medtech and clinicians will come together to make more complex cancer care accessible, not only to the metros, but also to the entire country of India.”
The event marked the first-of-its-kind collaboration in Gujarat, emphasizing the integration of human expertise and AI in oncology to make precision medicine more accessible across India.
