Sakra Appoints Tandem Healthcare to Build 500-Bed Hospital in North BLR

Spread across 6.8 lakh square feet, the hospital marks a significant expansion for Sakra, which currently operates a 350-bed tertiary care centre in Marathahalli.
Sakra World Hospital on Tuesday announced the appointment of Tandem Healthcare, a healthcare-focused EPC firm, to design and build its second hospital, a 500-bed facility in North Bengaluru.
Spread across 6.8 lakh square feet, the hospital marks a significant expansion for Sakra, which currently operates a 350-bed tertiary care centre in Marathahalli.
The new facility aligns with Sakra’s plans to expand Bengaluru's capacity by over 1,000 beds over the next few years.
“This facility is a strategic leap forward—not just in scale, but in how healthcare is imagined and delivered. It reinforces our commitment to building infrastructure that advances clinical excellence and puts the patient experience at the centre,” said Lovekesh Phasu, Group Chief Operating Officer, Sakra World Hospital.
Nature-Inspired Design and Clinical Focus
The hospital will adopt a green biophilic design, incorporating garden lounges, green balconies, planters, lake views, and an arrival canopy to foster a nature-inspired healing environment.
The G+9 tower, which will reflect Indo-Japanese architecture and be supported by Secom Medical System and Toyota Tsusho, will cost INR 1,000 crore.
Additionally, the upcoming facility will offer several advanced clinical programmes. These include a Comprehensive Cancer Treatment Programme equipped with LINAC, MR-LINAC, Gamma Knife, Brachytherapy, and nuclear medicine. It will also house dedicated Interventional Neuro, rehab, Cardiology, and Mother and Child Programs.
The hospital is expected to be fully operational within 30 months.
