S.L. Raheja Hospital Launches AI-Enabled PET CT, 3T-MRI, and Critical Pediatric Units

This is the city’s second digital PET CT installation, improving access to high-resolution diagnostic imaging and critical pediatric services.

S.L. Raheja Hospital, a Fortis Associate, has introduced AI-enabled Digital PET CT and 3 Tesla MRI services, along with newly upgraded Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) facilities in Mumbai.

This is the city’s second digital PET CT installation, improving access to high-resolution diagnostic imaging and critical pediatric services.

The newly launched PET CT unit, led by Dr Mary Anne Joseph, Head of Nuclear Imaging, is equipped with AI-enabled software to improve precision in detecting lesions for cancer, neurology, infection, inflammation, and cardiology-related conditions. The 3 Tesla MRI, overseen by Dr Sanjay Bhatia, Consultant in Radiology, offers faster scans, higher resolution images, and reduced patient time in the machine.

Dr S. Narayani, Business Head, Fortis Hospitals, Maharashtra, said, “At S. L. Raheja Hospital, we have always believed in pushing the boundaries of excellence in patient care. Launching our advanced NICU, PICU, and cutting-edge PET CT and MRI facilities is a major step forward in our commitment to providing world-class, technology-driven healthcare.”

The hospital stated that these services aim to support early detection, better staging, and more accurate treatment planning.

The upgraded NICU and PICU units have advanced ventilators, CPAP units, LED phototherapy systems, and a dedicated isolation bed in the PICU. The NICU houses seven beds, while the PICU consists of four.

Additional pediatric beds on the same floor support integrated care. Dr Asmita Mahajan, Consultant Neonatologist and Pediatrician, will head the unit.

Dr Kunal Punamiya, CEO of S.L. Raheja Hospital, added, “These new facilities are helmed by experts, built on a foundation of compassionate, evidence-based care.”
