Regard & Cedars-Sinai Partner to Deploy AI Documentation Platform Across Two Hospitals
The agreement is aimed at improving care quality, reducing documentation burdens on clinicians, and supporting financial sustainability.
Cedars-Sinai has partnered to deploy its AI-powered proactive documentation platform at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital.
The agreement is aimed at improving care quality, reducing documentation burdens on clinicians, and supporting financial sustainability.
The Regard platform analyzes electronic health records (EHR) to surface diagnostic insights and generate draft clinical notes before physicians meet patients. The company stated that the system helps streamline the diagnostic process, enabling physicians to make faster and more accurate clinical decisions.
Dr. Shaun Miller, chief health informatics officer at Cedars-Sinai, said, "From its early days in our Accelerator program, we recognized Regard's potential to help physicians diagnose and treat patients. Our ability to enhance care quality, reduce burnout and support accurate hospital reimbursement makes this a win for both patients and clinicians."
Since 2020, Regard has been launched in more than 150 hospitals across 15 states, recommending over eight million diagnoses accepted by clinicians. The platform has supported improved capture of comorbid and major comorbid conditions, generated more than $50 million in revenue for customers, and delivered five times return on investment per user.
Nate Wilson, co-founder and president at Regard, said, "Cedars-Sinai has been an invaluable partner and champion for us since the beginning. We look forward to continuing to advance how medicine is practiced, delivering significant impact for patients and physicians alike."
Regard’s relationship with Cedars-Sinai dates back to 2017, when it joined the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator program. Cedars-Sinai Health Ventures later invested in the company’s Series B financing and licensed the platform to help reduce administrative burdens on healthcare professionals.
Maureen Burgess, partner at Cedars-Sinai Health Ventures, added, "As an early-stage investor in Regard and a leader in innovation, Cedars-Sinai is committed to improving patient care outcomes and experience. Regard has the potential to transform the patient experience as well as enable improved coding compliance for billing."
