Rainbow Children’s Medicare Opens 100-Bed Hospital in Rajahmundry
With this addition, RCML’s network has expanded to 22 hospitals and five clinics across nine cities, totaling around 2,300 beds.
Rainbow Children’s Medicare (RCML) has launched a 100-bed greenfield hospital in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, marking its third facility in the state after Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.
With this addition, RCML’s network has expanded to 22 hospitals and five clinics across nine cities, totaling around 2,300 beds.
Regional hub for Godavari districts
Located strategically between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada, the new hospital is expected to serve patients from the East and West Godavari districts. Rajahmundry’s large population base, supported by agriculture, aqua, allied industries, and urban growth, positions the facility as a regional hub for pediatric and perinatal healthcare.
The hospital is equipped with 24×7 consultant-led emergency services, advanced NICU and PICU units, specialty pediatric clinics, high-risk obstetrics, fetal medicine, laparoscopic gynecology, and fertility services under the ‘BirthRight by Rainbow’ program.
The Rajahmundry launch follows recent hospital openings in Warangal and Guwahati, making it the third new hospital RCML has added in FY26.
Expansion strategy and vision
Dr. Ramesh Kancharla, Chairman and Managing Director of Rainbow Children’s Medicare, said, “The launch of our hospital in Rajahmundry is a significant step in Rainbow’s journey of enabling quality pediatric and perinatal care across Andhra Pradesh. This 100-bed facility is designed to serve the Godavari belt, one of the most prominent growth corridors in the state. With 22 hospitals and ~2,300 beds today, we are on a strong trajectory to expand into new cities and deepen our presence, while building long-term value for our stakeholders. At Rainbow, our commitment has always been to take advanced care closer to where it is needed the most, and this expansion reflects that promise. We will continue to build and invest with the same focus, creating a healthcare ecosystem that children and mothers across India can rely on.”
RCML follows a hub-and-spoke model, where hub hospitals deliver tertiary and quaternary services, while spoke hospitals provide pediatric and obstetric care, outpatient services, and NICU facilities. The model is already functional in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, with plans for Chennai, NCR, and tier-2 cities in southern India.
The group also runs India’s largest pediatric DNB training programme in private healthcare, offering postgraduate residential and fellowship courses.
