Providence Unveils Healthcare Innovation Centre in Hyderabad

As part of its expansion, Providence India plans to grow its workforce significantly to address the rising need for advanced healthcare technology.

Providence India, a global healthcare engineering and innovation hub, unveiled a new office facility in Hyderabad.

Alongside this expansion, the company revealed intentions to substantially increase its workforce in India, aiming to meet the escalating demand for advanced technological solutions in healthcare.

Sharing insights on the role of technology in enhancing healthcare delivery, Rod Hochman, president & CEO of Providence India, said, "Providence serves at the intersection of innovation and compassion. The India team has embraced healthcare technology to improve patient outcomes and experiences."

Welcoming the expansion, Hon’ble IT Minister of Telangana D Sridhar Babu commended Providence for leveraging Telangana’s infrastructure and talent pool.

He noted the projected addition of 2,000 jobs by 2025, underscoring the government's support for industries fostering innovation and technological development in the state.

Functional Aspects of the New Facility

The new office facility will be a central hub for critical functions, including cloud services, cybersecurity, clinical applications, digital solutions, data analytics, and product development. Additionally, Providence India plans to actively hire skilled professionals in these areas, tapping into India's diverse talent pool.

Chief information officer at Providence, BJ Moore, spoke about India's leadership in technology innovations and its potential to transform healthcare.

He said, "India is a prominent global technology innovation leader. We are enthusiastic about harnessing its highly skilled and diverse talent pool to propel digital transformation in healthcare. As one of the early US healthcare providers to establish and expand health-tech capabilities in India, we leverage our global teams to ensure secure coverage, enhancing patient care around the clock. Our collaborative efforts aim to revolutionize digital healthcare delivery, safeguard data, and empower caregivers with tailored tools and insights for patient-centric care."

Infrastructural Advancements

Providence India's new facility boasts a biophilic design with over 150 plant species, promoting a healthy and conducive work environment. The offices are built to LEED and WELL-Platinum standards, ensuring sustainability and employee well-being.

Additionally, the facility features modern amenities. Moreover, the center is designed to be accessible to people with disabilities.

Adding thoughts, Murali Krishna, chief global officer and country head of Providence India, said, "Our new facility marks a significant step in our journey as a hub for health-tech innovation. We partner with US health systems to accelerate digital transformation and unlock value with future-forward, AI-enabled products and services."

He emphasized Providence India's inclusive work culture and its focus on co-creation strategies.

Founded in February 2020 by Providence, a US-based not-for-profit health system, Providence India has rapidly evolved into a global hub for healthtech innovation. With a workforce of 1,400 highly skilled professionals, including 37% women, Providence India has been instrumental in driving Providence's digital transformation journey.
