PM Modi Lays Foundation for INR 570 Cr Health Projects in Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently laid the foundation stones for health infrastructure projects worth ₹570 crore in Assam’s Darrang district.
The foundation ceremony took place in Mangaldoi, where the Prime Minister launched the construction of Darrang Medical College and Hospital, along with a nursing college and a General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) school.
Officials said the combined investment in these healthcare projects is ₹570 crore. These initiatives are aimed at strengthening healthcare access and infrastructure in the region.
The healthcare projects form part of a larger ₹6,300 crore development initiative, which also includes other infrastructure works. The medical college and hospital, nursing college, and GNM school are expected to play a key role in improving healthcare services in Darrang and the surrounding areas.
The Prime Minister’s visit to Assam is part of a broader development push in the state. During his visit, he also laid the foundation stones for other major infrastructure projects.
