PM Modi Inaugurates Namo Hospital in Silvassa, Showcases India's First AI-Powered Knee Surgery Robot

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the first phase of Namo Hospital, a 450-bedded, INR 460 Cr state-of-the-art healthcare facility in Silvassa, Dadra, and Nagar Haveli.

Designed to enhance advanced medical services in the region, the hospital is part of a broader initiative to strengthen India's healthcare infrastructure.

During his visit, the Prime Minister also launched multiple public welfare projects worth over INR 2,500 crore, including new hospitals, schools, and infrastructure developments aimed at improving healthcare accessibility and public services.

AI-Powered Robotic Surgery System Showcased

A key highlight of the inauguration was the demonstration of Misso, India's first indigenously developed AI-powered robotic system for knee replacement surgery.

Developed by Meril, a leading medical technology company, the system was presented by the company's CEO, Vivek Shah.

"At Meril, we are committed to developing innovative, world-class technologies that enhance surgical precision, clinical outcomes, and patient recovery. Misso represents a proud milestone in India's journey toward self-reliance in advanced medical technology," said Shah.

Prime Minister Modi lauded the technological advancements transforming India's healthcare sector. He emphasized the importance of indigenous medical technology in making high-quality healthcare more accessible.

The launch of Namo Hospital marks a significant step in India's mission to provide world-class healthcare infrastructure, ensuring better medical services for all.
