PM Modi Backs AI-Led Healthcare Transformation at AI Impact Summit 2026
The official two-day Summit is expected to be inaugurated on February 19 and culminate on February 20, with various countries adopting a Declaration on the final day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said artificial intelligence is transforming healthcare as India hosted the AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The Summit, which began on February 16 and will continue till February 20, has brought together participants from over 100 countries, including heads of government, ministers, industry leaders, innovators, policymakers, researchers and technology experts. The theme of the Summit is Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya, or welfare for all.
Highlighting the expanding role of artificial intelligence across sectors, the PM tweeted, "AI today is transforming several sectors, including healthcare, education, agriculture, governance and enterprise. The AI Impact Summit will enrich global discourse on diverse aspects of AI, such as innovation, collaboration, responsible use and more. I am confident that the outcomes of the Summit will help shape a future that is progressive, innovative and opportunity-driven."
In a separate post welcoming global participants, he said, "Starting today, India hosts the AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. I warmly welcome world leaders, captains of industry, innovators, policymakers, researchers and tech enthusiasts from across the world for this Summit."
The AI Impact Summit 2026 builds on the AI Action Summit held in Paris and co-chaired by PM Modi last year, as well as meetings in Seoul in 2024 and the inaugural edition held in Britain’s Bletchley Park in 2023.
The week-long programme will feature more than 500 events alongside the main sessions. It will also include a trade show of AI products and solutions by more than 840 exhibitors, including national delegations, ministerial groups, technology companies, AI startups and research labs.
