The initiative is positioned to meet the practical needs of patients facing time constraints or mobility challenges, including those requiring emergency, chronic, or regular over-the-counter medication.

PhonePe’s hyperlocal commerce platform, Pincode, has launched a round-the-clock online medicine delivery service in Bangalore, Mumbai, and Pune. The service promises to deliver both over-the-counter and prescription medicines within 10 minutes.

The service operates through partnerships with nearby medical shops, differing from the typical dark-store model used by conventional e-pharmacies.

Unlike other platforms that rely on centralised warehouses, the Pincode app connects users directly to local pharmacies, ensuring faster fulfillment and sustained support for community-based medical stores.

Teleconsultation Enabled for Non-Prescription Orders

To ensure regulatory compliance for prescription-only medicines, the app includes an option for users who do not have a valid prescription. After placing an order using the ‘no prescription’ option, customers are contacted within minutes by a qualified doctor for a free teleconsultation. Based on the evaluation, a digital prescription is issued following telemedicine guidelines.

Commenting on the service rollout, Vivek Lohcheb, CEO of Pincode, said,“ Our 10-minute delivery service ensures customers receive medicines without unnecessary delays. Through our continuous availability and free doctor on call, we are improving access to fundamental healthcare services while reinforcing the position of neighborhood medical shops in the digital economy. This approach stimulates local economic growth and ensures trusted medical shops remain integral to their communities.”

Focus on Accessibility and Local Healthcare Support

The initiative is positioned to meet the practical needs of patients facing time constraints or mobility challenges, including those requiring emergency, chronic, or regular over-the-counter medication. Pincode’s pricing reflects rates offered by partner pharmacies, and the platform does not levy any delivery charges, passing on local discounts directly to consumers.

PhonePe's Pincode app remains one of the few digital health commerce solutions offering 24x7 medicine delivery alongside free virtual consultations and a fully hyperlocal supply chain.
