Bengaluru-based Muse Wearables, a tech startup, has developed a smart ring, '˜Ring One,' with advanced health-tracking, contactless payments, and cuff-less blood pressure measurements.
The product is expected to launch on 27 September 2023 globally and on 25 October 2023 in India.
'Ring One' is a comprehensive health companion capable of measuring six vital parameters: heart rate, blood oxygen levels, temperature, respiratory rate, heart rate variability, and blood pressure.
However, the product is more than just a health tracker. It also offers a seamless 'tap to pay' experience.
With the device's integrated payment functionality, users can effortlessly complete transactions by waving their hands.
Muse Wearables has joined forces with major payment networks, including Mastercard, VISA, and RuPay, to ensure that Ring One's payment capabilities are accessible to people across the globe.
This payment feature will be available in several countries, including India, the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, Singapore, and the UAE, making it a versatile financial tool for a diverse user base.
Muse Wearables has partnered with local contract manufacturers too to set up exclusive production lines for 'Ring One,' currently operating at total capacity.
Significantly, 'Ring One' is entirely crafted and produced in India, highlighting the company's commitment to the 'Make in India' initiative and establishing India as a central hub for cutting-edge wearable technology.
Founded in 2015 by Sai Prasanth, Yathindra Ajay, and Prathyusha Kamarajugadda, Muse Wearables originated in the IIT Madras Incubation Cell and has gained recognition for pioneering payment-enabled hybrid smartwatches. The startup is headquartered in Bengaluru, with registered offices in Chennai, Singapore, and the USA.
Operating primarily through a 'Direct to Consumer' business model, Muse Wearables currently serves customers in nearly 30 countries, offering its products directly through online platforms.
In response to the saturation of the Indian smartwatch market, where numerous brands offer various choices, companies including Noise and boAt have launched smart rings in the recent past.
