Minister Nadda Haryana CM Saini Push for AI-Led Accessibility in Public Health Systems

The summit provides a venue for States and Union Territories to present healthcare innovations and effective practices. The primary objective is to improve the accessibility, affordability, and inclusivity of medical services nationwide.

Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, and Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao have inaugurated the 10th National Summit on Health Innovation and Inclusivity.

The event provides a platform for States and Union Territories to present health sector innovations aimed at improving healthcare accessibility and affordability.

“The country has taken a long leap in the last decade, and many new initiatives have been taken to strengthen the health systems in the areas of science, innovation, and technology. A key milestone in this journey has been the shift from a predominantly curative approach to a comprehensive and holistic healthcare framework,” Nadda said, highlighting that the earlier National Health Policy of 2002 focused largely on curative care.

The Minister reported that 1.85 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs provide preventive care and NCD screenings for 1.5 billion people. While 50,000 centers have achieved National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification.

Nadda also launched the Swasth Bharat and JANANI portals, alongside a compendium of successful health innovations, updated training modules for primary care teams, and the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK-2.0) guidelines.

These initiatives are designed to reduce the administrative workload on frontline workers while improving the quality of maternal and pediatric care.

Chief Minister Saini announced that Haryana has allocated approximately ₹14,000 crore for healthcare in the current fiscal year. This represents a 32.89% increase compared to the budget for 2025-26.

The Chief Minister noted that Haryana's health budget rose from ₹2,646 crore in 2014 to ₹10,500 crore in 2025–26, representing a 298% increase. He stated that the summit's findings will help develop the national public health system.

“The care companion programme is training attendants of the patients. Under the digital health initiative e-Sanjeevani, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are facilitating more than 2,200 tele-consultations daily, enabling rural patients to directly consult specialists from premier institutions such as PGIMER, Chandigarh,” Saini said, adding that digital platforms such as U-WIN and eVIN have enabled end-to-end digitisation of vaccination and vaccine supply chain management, ensuring and sustaining full immunisation coverage.

Saini added that institutional deliveries in the state have reached 98.80%, contributing to a substantial decline in maternal and infant mortality rates. “The full immunisation coverage in the state has reached 105%,’’ the CM added.
