Microsoft & INBRAIN Teams Up to Integrate Agentic AI in Brain-Computer Interfaces for Neurological Care

The platform aims to create closed-loop interventions for complex neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, memory impairment, and epilepsy.

Barcelona-based INBRAIN Neuroelectronics, a healthtech company specializing in graphene-based brain-computer interface (BCI) therapeutics, has announced a partnership with Microsoft.

The collaboration is intended to bring agentic artificial intelligence to INBRAIN’s neural platform, combining Microsoft’s Azure cloud services and large language models (LLMs) with INBRAIN’s graphene-based electrode technology.

As per the partnership, the platform will leverage Microsoft Azure by continuous learning and adaptation based on individual patients’ neural signals.

Further, the platform will integrate AI agents, an automated system capable of planning, reasoning, and acting without human oversight, with INBRAIN’s decoding and modulation capabilities.

Together, the platform aims to create closed-loop interventions for complex neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, memory impairment, and epilepsy.

Commenting on the partnership, Carolina Aguilar, CEO and co-founder of INBRAIN Neuroelectronics, said, “Our vision is to create the most intelligent, autonomous, and personalised interface between the nervous system and AI. Reportedly, the partnership follows growing momentum in the brain–computer interface (BCI) sector as it advances toward real-world therapeutic applications.

Earlier in 2025, INBRAIN Neuroelectronics established a U.S. subsidiary and entered into a collaboration with the Mayo Clinic to clinically validate its BCI-Therapeutics platform.
