Texas-based Menthra, an AI-powered emotional wellbeing platform, has expanded its presence in India with the launch of Menthra Care, which combines AI-driven emotional support with access to verified mental health professionals.
The platform is designed to help users transition from AI conversations to therapists, psychiatrists and care organisations without losing conversation history, while strengthening access to structured mental health support across the country.
Founded by entrepreneur Dinakara Nagalla, Menthra was established in late 2025 to create a continuum of emotional wellbeing support through AI companions, coaches and clinical professionals.
Headquartered in Frisco, Texas, the company chose India as its first market, citing the country's significant unmet demand for accessible mental health services.
With Menthra Care, the company has introduced a structured pathway that connects AI-based emotional support with qualified human intervention whenever additional care is needed.
Instead of requiring users to repeatedly explain their concerns, the platform carries relevant conversation context into consultations with verified professionals, creating greater continuity across different stages of support.
Dinakara Nagalla, Founder and CEO of Menthra, said, "With Menthra Care, we are building the human and clinical layer that connects everyday emotional support with professional care, so people can receive appropriate support when they need it without having to start their story again at every stage."
The company is also building two nationwide networks to strengthen its services. The Therapist Network will include verified and background-checked therapists, psychiatrists, clinicians, coaches and mentors who meet standardised quality benchmarks.
Alongside this, the Care Network will partner with community clinics, universities, non-profit organisations and other institutions to improve access to mental health support, especially for underserved populations facing challenges related to affordability, geographical distance or limited availability of specialists.

It added that its data handling practices have been designed in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, while supporting privacy throughout the care journey.
To lead its clinical strategy in India, the company has appointed NIMHANS-trained psychiatrist Dr Anjali Jaisinghani as Chief Medical Officer, Menthra India.
She will oversee the development of clinical protocols and expand the platform's professional network with a focus on evidence-based and accessible emotional wellbeing services.
