Lupin Carves Out LupinLife Consumer Healthcare as Wholly Owned Subsidiary

The move aims to strengthen its focus on India’s expanding self-care and over-the-counter (OTC) healthcare market.
Lupin has announced the carve-out of its consumer healthcare business into a new wholly owned subsidiary named LupinLife Consumer Healthcare (LCH), effective July 1, 2025.
The move aims to strengthen its focus on India’s expanding self-care and over-the-counter (OTC) healthcare market.
LupinLife Consumer Healthcare, launched in 2017, has built a portfolio of OTC wellness products including Softovac, Beplex Forte, Corcium, and Aptivate. According to the company, this restructuring enables focused investments and drives targeted market growth.
Nilesh Gupta, Lupin's managing director, said, "This strategic move reinforces our mission of developing high-impact businesses that drive sustained value. LCH exemplifies our unwavering dedication to patient-centric care and service to consumers.”
The newly formed entity will operate independently under the leadership of Anil Kaushal, who takes over as chief executive officer. The company stated that this change will support faster scalability and innovation within India’s OTC sector.
Commenting on the development, Kaushal said, "This carve-out marks an exciting new chapter in our consumer healthcare journey. We are committed to offering world-class OTC products and wellness solutions for Indian consumers. LCH is well-positioned to scale with agility, innovate with intent, and expand access to wellness solutions across India.”
The formation of LCH marks a strategic milestone in Lupin’s long-term vision to serve the country's growing demand for self-medication and preventive wellness solutions.
