Ludhiana Municipal Corporation is set to deploy an AI-enabled mobile medical lab designed to deliver rapid diagnostics and essential healthcare services directly to underserved neighborhoods.
The unit functions as a compact, mobile health facility equipped with point-of-care testing systems, automated reporting tools and digital health connectivity to support frontline clinical teams in the field.

Officials noted that the integrated digital workflow streamlines assessment, triage and referral, allowing community health workers to conduct structured health evaluations without relying on fixed infrastructure.
Sandeep Sharma, Additional Municipal Commissioner, Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, highlighted the significance of the new platform, noting, “This unit enables our teams to reach high-need areas with Diagnostic support, sanitation services and essential facilities in a single platform.”
In addition to the med-lab, the vehicle includes a water-enabled washroom and a compact kitchen, supporting extended field operations, public-health camps and relief activities in areas with limited civic amenities.
Municipal teams emphasized that combining diagnostics with essential utilities strengthens the city’s ability to conduct early detection drives, NCD risk assessments and emergency response activities.
“By integrating AI diagnostics with service utilities on wheels, we streamline outreach and make city services accessible where they are needed most.”
The AI-enabled mobile medical lab forms part of Ludhiana’s broader effort to modernize public-health delivery by deploying mobile, digitally equipped units capable of operating across varied and resource-constrained environments.
