Lilavati Hospital Introduces Mumbai’s First AI-Powered 3T MRI

The hospital said this is the first installation of its kind in Mumbai, offering speed, precision, and comfort to patients across all age groups.

Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre has installed the OMEGA 3T MRI, a next-generation diagnostic imaging system that combines advanced technology with patient-centric design.

The 3T MRI is equipped with the world’s first 75 cm ultra-wide bore, designed to provide greater comfort and accessibility. It allows claustrophobic, elderly, paediatric, and bariatric patients to undergo scans with ease.

Silent MRI Technology further enhances the experience by minimizing acoustic noise, creating a calmer and more relaxing environment during procedures. The system also integrates advanced AI-powered imaging with deep learning reconstructions, enabling faster scans and sharper results.

Built with a 3T superconducting magnet and advanced homogeneity, the OMEGA system delivers crystal-clear images with high tissue contrast.

The new MRI completes scans in 10–12 minutes compared to the conventional 30–40 minutes, offering speeds up to 36 times faster than standard MRI. This reduces patient discomfort and minimizes motion artifacts, making it particularly valuable for paediatric and emergency cases where speed and accuracy are critical.

The system supports full-body imaging across multiple specialties, including neurology, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, abdomen, pelvis, breast, vascular, and spine scans.

With a 300 kg capacity table, it can accommodate a wide range of patients. Automated setup tools such as EasyScan and AutoPositioning further reduce setup time, allowing clinicians to focus more on patient care while delivering quicker results.
