Laxmi Dental Acquires Majority Stake in AI Dent for AI-Powered Dental Imaging
According to the transaction details, upon the deal's completion, Laxmi Dental will acquire a 58 percent stake in AI Dent.
Laxmi Dental has announced that its Board of Directors has approved investing in IDBG AI Dent Global, a Gujarat-based healthcare technology company.
AI Dent is developing artificial intelligence-based dental imaging and diagnostic tools, including image analysis and X-ray interpretation software.
As per the transaction details, Laxmi Dental will acquire a 58 per cent stake in AI Dent upon completion of the deal. The acquisition aims to strengthen the company’s research and development efforts and expand its technological capabilities in the dental sector.
The investment aligns with national initiatives such as Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, supporting increased domestic production and self-reliance in healthcare technology.
AI Dent is developing advanced diagnostic solutions that incorporate artificial intelligence into dental imaging. These include AI-enabled software designed to assist in interpreting X-rays and analysing images more accurately and efficiently.
According to the company, integrating AI in dental practice is intended to support dentists by streamlining decision-making and reducing patient procedural complexities. The initiative aims to improve access, accuracy, and consistency in dental diagnosis and treatment.
The move marks a shift towards building local capability in AI for dental care, to enable faster, data-driven workflows for dental professionals.
