Jupiter Hospitals to Set Up 400-Bed Facility in Mumbai’s BKC After Winning INR 354 Cr Bid
The hospital network said the project is subject to regulatory approvals and will be built on approximately 10,026 square meters of land allotted on an 80-year lease.
Jupiter Life Line Hospitals has won a bid from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to acquire land in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) for INR 354 crore, with plans to develop a 400-bed hospital at the site.
The hospital network said the project is subject to regulatory approvals and will be built on approximately 10,026 square meters of land allotted on an 80-year lease. The proposed facility is expected to add to healthcare capacity in one of Mumbai’s key commercial hubs.
The development is part of Jupiter’s ongoing expansion strategy in the western region. The company currently operates four hospitals, including one in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and has three more facilities under construction, including the newly announced BKC project.
According to Joint Managing Director and Chief Executive Ankit Thakker, the expansion reflects the company’s focus on strengthening its hospital network in high-demand urban markets. The addition of the BKC facility is expected to support access to tertiary care services in Mumbai’s business district and surrounding areas.
The Bandra Kurla Complex is one of Mumbai’s primary business and financial centers, with increasing demand for healthcare infrastructure driven by its growing workforce and residential population. The proposed hospital is expected to cater to this demand once operational.
