Jupiter Hospital Extends Care to Dombivli, Advancing Maharashtra Expansion Plan

The hospital chain, which currently operates around 1,061 beds, plans to launch new hospitals in Pune's Mira Bhayandar and Bibwewadi.

Jupiter Hospital has unveiled its latest facility in Dombivli, further expanding its network in Maharashtra.

The development follows the previously announced expansion plan of Jupiter Life Line Hospitals, one of the leading hospital chains in Maharashtra, which outlined an investment of INR 1,400 crore aimed at doubling its bed capacity.

The hospital chain, which currently operates around 1,061 beds, plans to launch new hospitals in Pune's Mira Bhayandar and Bibwewadi.

The initiative is aimed at enhancing healthcare access in suburban and urban regions of Maharashtra. As part of this expansion pipeline, the Dombivli project has been positioned as a key development.

The expansion is set to be executed in multiple phases. Phase 1 includes adding 200-250 beds and is targeted for completion by FY 2027. Phase 2 involves construction for the Pune hospital, which is expected to begin in FY 2026, while the Mira Bhayandar project is in the regulatory clearance stage, with operations likely to begin by FY 2029.

Reportedly, Jupiter plans to fund the expansion primarily through internal accruals and debt. The company is net cash positive, with ₹600 crore in cash and ₹325 crore in debt.

The group’s strategy focuses on developing greenfield, mid-sized hospitals with 300-500 beds designed for local catchment areas, rather than large tertiary hubs.
