Jharkhand Launches e-Sushrut Mobile App to Accelerate ABDM Integration & Digitize Patient Records
The newly launched app, developed under the Mukhyamantri Digital Health Yojana, enables patients to register at government facilities and access prescriptions, lab reports, and discharge summaries directly on their devices.
Jharkhand has launched e-Sushrut Jharkhand Mobile App as part of its push to deepen ABDM integration, enabling digital access to patient records while expanding connected health services across public and private hospitals.
The rollout builds on the state’s broader digital health push under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), launched in 2024 with an INR 299 Cr outlay.
Over the past two years, Jharkhand has implemented ABDM-enabled Hospital Management Information Systems (HMIS) across all district hospitals and community health centres, while efforts are ongoing to onboard private hospitals.
Nationally, ABDM has already facilitated the creation of over 870 million ABHA IDs and linked more than 960 million health records, positioning digital health as a core pillar of healthcare delivery.
e-Sushrut Jharkhand Mobile App
The newly launched app, developed under the Mukhyamantri Digital Health Yojana, enables patients to register at government facilities and access prescriptions, lab reports, and discharge summaries directly on their devices.
By reducing dependence on physical documents, the platform aims to make healthcare delivery more efficient and patient-centric. Officials indicated that the application will support the transition of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and public health centres into paperless facilities.
Speaking at the state-level ABDM workshop in Ranchi, Additional Chief Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh highlighted the state’s rapid progress. “Jharkhand digital health mission was launched to keep up the pace with digital transformation taking place across the globe in the health sector. In just two years, all govt district hospitals and community health centres have already implemented ABDM-enabled HMIS, while many private hospitals in the state are yet to get onto the platform,” he said.
Expanding Digital Infrastructure & Connectivity
The state is also investing in advanced digital capabilities, including integrated dashboards and control rooms at the state and district levels to improve monitoring and service delivery.
Tele-ICU services have been launched in four district hospitals with RIMS, Ranchi, as the central hub, and plans are underway to expand this network statewide. Additionally, tele-radiology hubs are enabling remote analysis of diagnostic reports by specialists.
NHA CEO Dr Sunil Kumar Barnwal underscored the role of digital health in patient empowerment, noting, “digital health is the most effective means of empowering patients.” He urged healthcare providers to adopt ABDM-enabled systems for seamless data exchange.
Alongside the app, the state launched the ABDM Jharkhand website and BSNL-supported digital connectivity services to link 559 health centres via Wi-Fi.
Authorities noted that effective ABDM implementation, supported by tools like the e-Sushrut Jharkhand Mobile App, is expected to make healthcare more accessible, interoperable, and efficient for citizens.
The workshop also highlighted progress under PM-JAY, with over 6.6 million beneficiaries availing services in Jharkhand and more than 13 million KYCs completed. Officials have directed districts to achieve full KYC coverage to strengthen scheme delivery.
