Jehangir Wellness Center launches AI-based emotional assessment with Nihilent’s Emoscape
The initiative brings emotion-analysis technology into routine wellness protocols, adding emotional markers to conventional health evaluation frameworks.
Jehangir Wellness Center (JWC), Pune, has become the first healthcare institution globally to formally integrate AI-powered emotional assessments into preventive care through a collaboration with Emoscape, a medical-grade Emotion AI platform developed by Nihilent.
The initiative brings emotion-analysis technology into routine wellness protocols, adding emotional markers to conventional health evaluation frameworks.
Under the new model, every visitor to Jehangir Wellness Center can undergo a non-invasive emotional scan that identifies nine core emotional states — Raudra, Bhayanaka, Hasya, Shringara, Adbhuta, Bibhatsa, Shanta, Veera, and Karuna. Emoscape captures emotional intensity and trends within 60 seconds using contactless assessment methods. The insights are reviewed alongside physical health indicators to understand potential links between emotional patterns and physiological symptoms or recovery responses.
The center is incorporating emotional analysis into regular wellness checks to support early detection and a more comprehensive view of patient health. With emotional data now part of routine diagnostics, JWC is positioning emotional well-being as a measurable component of preventive care.
Speaking at the launch, Lt. Gen. Dr. Madhuri Kanitkar (Retd), Former Vice-Chancellor of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and Ex-Dean AFMC, said Emoscape provides scientific visibility into emotional states, reinforcing the connection between emotional and physical health.
Cowas Jehangir, Trustee, Jehangir Hospital, said the initiative aligns with the center’s objective of understanding mind–body connections within wellness care. L.C. Singh, Founder–Executive Vice Chairman of Nihilent, noted that Emoscape was designed to make emotional patterns observable for clinicians, enabling them to correlate emotional responses with health outcomes. Vinod Sawantwadkar, CEO of Jehangir Hospital, described the integration as an advancement in integrative healthcare.
Emoscape’s deployment at JWC marks its first institutional partnership in the healthcare sector. The platform has previously been tested across healthcare, sports, learning, and corporate environments. Within JWC, the emotional assessment is used in combination with medical reports to build individual health profiles and suggest appropriate interventions. The tool is drawing interest from varied age groups, including working professionals facing burnout, adolescents managing identity-related stress, senior citizens experiencing loneliness, and individuals seeking resilience training. All scans are processed confidentially with adherence to data privacy protocols.
