InvAscent invests INR 265 Cr in Apex Hospitals; Somerset Indus exits

The deal involves a mix of primary infusion and a secondary purchase from existing investor Somerset Indus Capital Partners.

Life sciences private equity firm InvAscent has acquired a significant stake in Rajasthan-based multi-specialty chain Apex Hospitals with an investment of USD 30 million (INR 265 crore).

The deal involves a mix of primary infusion and a secondary purchase from existing investor Somerset Indus Capital Partners.

With this transaction, Somerset Indus has made a complete exit from Apex. Advay Capital Advisors advised both Apex and Somerset on the deal.

According to people familiar with the development, Apex’s promoters will retain majority ownership and continue to lead the hospital chain.

Founded three decades ago by Dr. S.B. Jhawar, Apex Hospitals runs two facilities in Jaipur and one each in Bikaner, Sawai Madhopur, Jhunjhunu, Sri Ganganagar, and Udaipur, with a total capacity of around 1,000 beds.

The capital infusion is expected to support Apex’s plans to expand into western and northern India, the sources added. The hospital’s core leadership team includes managing director Dr. Sachin Jhawar, along with Dr. Shailesh Jhawar, Dr. Sheenu Jhawar, Kunju Jhawar, and Siddhant Jhawar.
