India and Trinidad & Tobago have agreed to deepen collaboration in healthcare, digital infrastructure, and agriculture, positioning development cooperation as a key pillar of bilateral ties.

The decision was made during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with his counterpart Kamla Persad-Bissessar in Port of Spain.

Healthcare took priority in the discussions, with both leaders agreeing to jointly work on public health initiatives, medical training, and digital health platforms.

During Modi's historic visit, the first by an Indian prime minister since 1999, the countries also signed six agreements spanning multiple sectors.
