A significant MoU was signed between India’s Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine and Homeopathy and Indonesia’s Food and Drug Authority, aiming to enhance collaboration in the standardization and regulation of traditional medicinal practices.
India and Indonesia signed five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to Delhi, strengthening cooperation in key areas such as health, traditional medicine, maritime security, digital development, and cultural exchange.
One of the key agreements focused on health cooperation was signed between India’s Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Indonesia’s Ministry of Health.
Another significant MoU was signed in the field of traditional medicine quality assurance between India’s Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine and Homeopathy, under the Ministry of AYUSH, and Indonesia’s Food and Drug Authority, aiming to enhance collaboration in the standardization and regulation of traditional medicinal practices.
In the maritime sector, the Indian Coast Guard and Indonesia’s BAKAMLA renewed their MoU on maritime safety and security cooperation, reinforcing joint efforts to ensure regional stability.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India signed an MoU with Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs to boost cooperation in digital development.
Additionally, a cultural exchange program was signed between the two nations for the period 2025-28, further strengthening ties in arts, heritage, and people-to-people connections.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met President Subianto at Hyderabad House in Delhi, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, emphasizing cooperation in defense, security, trade, and regional connectivity.
