This collaboration seeks to integrate cutting-edge technology with medical research through joint initiatives in research, education, and skill development.
iHub Anubhuti-IIITD Foundation, a Technology Innovation Hub (TiH) specializing in cognitive computing and social sensing, has partnered with the Medanta Institute of Education and Research (MIER) to promote healthcare innovation.
Vinay Mehta, CEO of iHub Anubhuti, and Dr. Shoibal Mukherjee, Director of Medical Research at Medanta, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of dignitaries from TiH, MIER, and IIIT-Delhi.
This collaboration seeks to integrate cutting-edge technology with medical research through joint initiatives in research, education, and skill development.
The partnership will foster collaboration between faculty, scientists, and clinicians from both organizations, facilitating joint research projects.
It will also include exchanging knowledge and expertise to design programs that enhance education and research in healthcare technology.
Academic exchanges, such as guest lectures, seminars, workshops, and conferences, will encourage the sharing of ideas and insights.
Students and research staff will benefit from opportunities to participate in these events and gain hands-on experience through short research stays at the partner institution, subject to faculty approval.
Prof. Ranjan Bose, Chairman of iHub Anubhuti and Director of IIIT-Delhi, remarked, “This collaboration combines iHub’s expertise in cognitive computing with Medanta’s leadership in medical research. It will focus on transformative advancements in healthcare through joint research, knowledge exchange, and skill development.”
Dr. Shoibal Mukherjee, Director of Medical Research at Medanta, emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, stating, “In the age of advanced digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and robotics, medical science can only progress with close collaboration between medical and computational scientists. This partnership will focus on implementable solutions to medical problems in both hospital and community settings.”
The MoU marks a significant step toward building a robust translational research ecosystem.
iHub Anubhuti, established under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) by the Department of Science and Technology, focuses on cognitive computing and health technology.
It has played a key role in establishing initiatives such as the Medical Cobotics Centre.
Medanta Institute of Education and Research, leveraging its network of tertiary-care hospitals and clinical expertise, focuses on integrating transformative healthcare solutions into medical practice through clinical and translational research.
