ICICI Bank Commits INR 625 Cr to Set Up Radiation Therapy Facility at Tata Memorial Center, Navi Mumbai

The project forms part of ICICI Bank’s broader INR 1,800 crore commitment to TMC for establishing three cancer care buildings; one each in Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra), Mullanpur (Punjab), and Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).

ICICI Bank, in partnership with the Tata Memorial Center (TMC), has announced the commencement of construction of a new cancer care building at TMC’s Advanced Center for Treatment, Research & Education in Cancer (ACTREC) in Navi Mumbai.

Funded through the bank’s CSR contribution of INR 625 crore, the new facility will be among India’s largest radiation therapy centers, equipped with advanced cancer treatment technologies.

The project forms part of ICICI Bank’s broader INR 1,800 crore commitment to TMC for establishing three cancer care buildings; one each in Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra), Mullanpur (Punjab), and Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).

The ceremony and unveiling of the foundation stone for the new building - named the ‘ICICI Foundation Block for Radiation Oncology’ - were held on October 19.

Dr. Sudeep Gupta, Director, Tata Memorial Center, said, “This contribution strengthens our commitment to delivering advanced, compassionate care to the most needy cancer patients nationwide.”

Spanning 3.4 lakh square feet across 11 stories, including a ground floor and two basements, the center will house 12 Linear Accelerators (LINACs) and other radiation therapy equipment. These systems will deliver targeted radiation to cancer cells while reducing damage to healthy tissues. Once operational, the facility is expected to provide radiation therapy to about 7,200 patients annually, with over two lakh radiation sessions. It will also offer OPD consultations and diagnostics to 25,000 new patients each year.

The project is expected to be completed by 2027, with the ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth, the CSR arm of ICICI Bank, overseeing implementation.

Pradeep Kumar Sinha, Chairman, ICICI Bank, said, “Once completed, the ‘ICICI Foundation Block for Radiation Oncology’ will be one of India’s largest centers for radiation therapy. This will significantly augment the availability of advanced radiation therapy to larger sections of society.
