Henry Schein One, AWS Partner to Launch AI-Augmented Dental Practice System
The collaboration will integrate AWS’s generative AI (GenAI) technologies across Henry Schein One’s platforms, including Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, and Dentally.
Henry Schein One has announced a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to introduce an AI-augmented dental practice management system aimed at transforming the way dental professionals manage care delivery and operations.
The collaboration will integrate AWS’s generative AI (GenAI) technologies across Henry Schein One’s platforms, including Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, and Dentally. The initiative forms part of the company’s broader global AI strategy to develop what it describes as the world’s first AI-augmented practice management system.
According to the company, the integration seeks to unify traditionally siloed tools and workflows by embedding AI-driven intelligence across each stage of the dental care journey—from booking and imaging to payments and treatment presentation.
“This collaboration represents a pivotal moment for dentistry,” said Ryan Hungate, Chief Clinical and Strategy Officer at Henry Schein One. “We’re not just improving workflows — we’re reimagining how dental care is delivered, documented, and optimized around the world.”
Key Integration Features
The integration of AWS services such as Amazon Bedrock and Transcribe Medical is expected to enable real-time documentation, where AI assistants capture and summarize patient interactions instantly. Voice-activated perio charting will also allow hands-free data entry, aimed at reducing administrative workload and improving accuracy.
Other enhancements include predictive business intelligence, automated claims validation, and dynamic pricing tools designed to support operational efficiency and revenue management. AI-driven scheduling and communication tools will further help personalize patient interactions, potentially reducing appointment no-shows and improving engagement.
With AWS’s global cloud infrastructure, Henry Schein One aims to extend these intelligent capabilities across the U.S., U.K., and E.U. markets. The collaboration seeks to ensure scalability and interoperability, maintaining consistent standards of care worldwide through an integrated digital ecosystem.
