Preparations are also underway to extend these services to private hospitals under the guidance of Chief Medical Officer Ashutosh Kumar Dubey.
Since its introduction, the U-WIN portal has facilitated vaccinations for approximately 1.84 lakh children under one year of age, 79,152 children aged 1-5 years, 62,858 pregnant women, and 10,594 adolescents.
District Immunization Officer Nandlal Kushwaha underscored the importance of routine immunizations, stating that seven rounds of vaccinations over five years are critical to protecting children from 12 life-threatening diseases.
He also highlighted the mandatory TD vaccinations for pregnant women and adolescents to ensure maternal and child health.
The U-WIN portal has streamlined the vaccination process by enabling beneficiaries to register using OTP-based mobile authentication, book slots, and choose nearby vaccination centers.
The system generates online vaccination certificates and sends up to six reminders for scheduled vaccinations, ensuring compliance.
Over 52,695 vaccination sessions have been conducted so far, including zero-dose vaccinations for 21,000 newborns at birth centers.
Mobile registration options also allow vaccinations for beneficiaries outside the district, ensuring broader coverage. Beneficiaries are reminded to carry their mobile numbers and ID proof for the sessions.
The U-WIN portal has proven to be a significant step forward in improving Gorakhpur's immunization framework.
