U-WIN is designed to ensure the timely administration of vaccines against 12 preventable diseases to pregnant women and children (up to 16 years).

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has announced that 7.43 Cr beneficiaries have been registered on the U-WIN portal as of November 25, 2024.

The digital platform, developed to streamline vaccination services under the Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP), has recorded 1.26 Cr vaccination sessions and the administration of 27.77 Cr vaccine doses.

Initially piloted across 63 districts in 35 states and union territories, U-WIN has now been rolled out nationwide, significantly increasing access and awareness of immunization services for both citizens and frontline workers.

About U-WIN

U-WIN is designed to ensure the timely administration of vaccines to pregnant women and children (up to 16 years) against 12 preventable diseases.

The platform targets around 2.9 Cr pregnant women and 2.6 Cr infants annually under UIP. It provides 'anytime access' and 'anywhere' vaccination services, allowing beneficiaries to avail of immunization services across locations.

The platform integrates with Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), generating ABHA and Child ABHA accounts for beneficiaries.

It also includes a citizen module that automates SMS notifications for registration confirmation, administered vaccine doses, and reminders for upcoming doses.

Additionally, the platform offers QR-based e-vaccination Certificates, ensuring authenticity and easy access to immunization records.

For areas without internet connectivity, the offline mode enables health workers to record vaccinations, enhancing the platform's usability in remote locations.

A mobile application for both citizens and vaccinators has been developed to enhance ease of use and accessibility.

Furthermore, an extensive social media campaign has been launched to raise awareness, particularly targeting pregnant women, to ensure greater participation in immunization programs.

Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Anupriya Patel, highlighted the platform’s success in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.

She noted that the growing daily usage of U-WIN has boosted public awareness and improved access to immunization services nationwide.

The U-WIN platform exemplifies the government’s commitment to leveraging digital solutions to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and ensure the well-being of citizens.
