Gadkari Launches Made-in-India Diagnostic Center in Nagpur
The CT scanner can perform high-resolution chest scans in six seconds and angiography in under thirty-two seconds. The centre is also equipped with five dialysis machines and advanced digital X-ray systems.
Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari has inaugurated the Swargiya Bhanutai Gadkari Memorial Diagnostic Centre in Nagpur.
Developed under his leadership, the charitable centre is aimed at delivering affordable, high-quality diagnostic services to underprivileged communities across the city.
The 6,000 sq ft facility offers MRI, CT scans, dialysis, blood tests, and digital X-rays, either free or at minimal cost. It is fully air-conditioned and operates on a paperless digital workflow.
Managed by the Swargiya Bhanutai Gadkari Gramin Vikas Sanstha, the center is designed to reach residents beyond North Nagpur and into underserved neighbourhoods citywide.
All key diagnostic equipment at the facility has been manufactured in India at the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ), Visakhapatnam. This includes the 1.5 Tesla Clarity MRI scanner and the Inspiration 64 Smart CT scanner, both certified by the CDSCO, AERB, and BIS.
“This centre reflects our commitment to ensuring that the poorest of the poor have access to cutting-edge healthcare. It combines our technological strength with social responsibility. With AMTZ’s support, we are not only providing healthcare at the last mile but also championing India’s capabilities in MedTech innovation,” said Gadkari at the launch.
The MRI system features MUSIC technology and a wide-bore, short-magnet design for improved patient comfort and scan efficiency. The CT scanner can perform high-resolution chest scans in six seconds and angiography in under thirty-two seconds. The centre is also equipped with five dialysis machines and advanced digital X-ray systems.
Dr Jitendra Sharma, managing director and founder CEO of AMTZ, underlined the significance of Indian-made technology in diagnostics.
“This diagnostic centre is proof that India now has the capacity to design and manufacture world-class diagnostic technology within the country. This not only reduces the cost of healthcare but also increases accessibility and self-reliance in health systems,” he said.
The launch event was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and Dr Jitendra Sharma. CM Fadnavis commended the initiative and invited Dr Sharma to partner with the Maharashtra government to scale such centres across the state.
