DSS Imagetech’s Hanahealth Introduces AI-Powered IVF Solution in India
The technology is designed to help IVF specialists improve embryo selection accuracy, thereby enhancing implantation success rates and overall treatment outcomes.
Hanahealth, the IVF division of DSS Imagetech, has announced a partnership with South Korea’s Kai Health to introduce the AI-powered embryo assessment tool, Vita Embryo, to IVF labs across India.
The technology is designed to help IVF specialists improve embryo selection accuracy, thereby enhancing implantation success rates and overall treatment outcomes.
The collaboration comes at a time when embryo selection in IVF is often considered variable and subjective, largely dependent on the embryologists’ experience.
By integrating AI, Vita Embryo supports clinicians with data-driven insights, reducing inefficiencies and identifying subtle embryo features not visible to the human eye.
“This collaboration aligns with DSS Imagetech’s focus on innovation, tech integration, and elevating clinical standards in IVF. Clinical results have shown that Vita Embryo’s AI can improve the accuracy of embryo selection by 25 per cent compared to human evaluation. Through Hanahealth’s partnership with Kai Health, we are empowering embryologists to better predict embryo viability, reduce inefficiencies and detect subtle embryo features invisible to the human eye. We will see a marked improvement in implantation success thanks to this collaboration,” said A.R. Ghatak, Vice President of the IVF Division at Hanahealth.
Highlighting the market opportunity, Dr. Hyejun Lee, CEO and Founder of Kai Health, said, “India is one of the fastest-growing markets for IVF, and we see immense potential to support its ecosystem. By introducing our advanced AI-powered embryo selection, Vita Embryo, into Indian clinics, we aim to empower IVF specialists in India with more precise tools for embryo assessment, ultimately helping improve success rates and patient outcomes.”
The partnership forms part of DSS Imagetech’s broader strategy to collaborate with global technology leaders and advance IVF solutions in India. Vita Embryo has received medical device certification in multiple regions, including India, where the number of IVF cycles is projected to double by 2030.
The solution has already been adopted by Nova IVF Fertility, which operates 120 clinics across India, and is expected to be rolled out to more clinics in the coming months.
