Dial4242, a tech-enabled ambulance service platform, has secured INR 9 crore in a pre-Series A funding round led by IAN Group.

The round also saw participation from BioAngels, IIM Bangalore’s NSRCEL, and other angel investors.

The Mumbai-based startup plans to use the funds to reduce its average ambulance turnaround time from 12 to under 8 minutes. The capital will also support technology upgrades, marketing efforts, expanding medical centers in underserved areas, and key leadership hires.

Established in 2016 by Jeetendra Lalwani and co-founders Nilesh Mahambre and Atin Verma, Dial4242 operates an on-demand ambulance network in over 850 cities. The company’s platform enables real-time ambulance tracking, automated dispatch, and a 24-hour call center.

“The loss of my father, my greatest inspiration, was the most painful moment of my life—but it sparked a mission to turn grief into impact. This became a mission to ensure that no life is lost due to the unavailability of an ambulance,” said Jeetendra Lalwani, Co-founder of Dial4242.

The company follows an asset-light, tech-first approach and has partnered with firms such as Amazon, Zomato, and Swiggy to offer medical support to gig economy workers. With an average response time of under 12 minutes, Dial4242 claims to be the fastest ambulance service provider in the country.

“Dial4242 is truly solving a real problem and surely a need that can arise any time. This team, led by Jeetendra, has already established the operations on a strong footing with a robust business model with a direct focus on saving lives,” said Padmaja Ruparel, Co-founder, IAN Group.

In the coming months, Dial4242 aims to scale hospital partnerships, grow its user base, and maintain its rapid emergency response benchmark. Plans also include launching free ambulance services through a low-cost membership and expanding its operations and product teams.
