The DC also instructed to ensure saturation of eligible beneficiaries, enabling them to avail cashless healthcare services at empanelled public and private hospitals under the AB-PMJAY framework.
Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, has reviewed the progress of ABHA ID generation and other key healthcare initiatives in the district, stressing the need for universal digital health coverage and faster enrolment to ensure citizens fully benefit from government-backed healthcare programmes.
In a recent meeting, the review has focused on Medical Zone-wise performance, highlighting areas where enrolment momentum needs to be strengthened to meet universal coverage goals under India’s digital health framework.
At the outset, the DC emphasized the importance of achieving universal coverage under the ABHA ID initiative to ensure seamless access to digital health services.
He directed the Officers to intensify awareness campaigns and expedite the registration process across all Medical Zones/Blocks in the district so that citizens benefit from the Government initiatives.
The ABHA ID, a cornerstone of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, enables individuals to securely store and share their health records digitally, improving continuity of care and reducing duplication in medical services.
The review has also examined the enrolment status of senior citizens under the Ayushman Vay Vandhana Card, an expanded benefit under the AB-PMJAY framework aimed at providing cashless healthcare to elderly citizens.
While reviewing progress, the DC instructed the concerned health functionaries to ensure saturation of eligible beneficiaries, enabling them to avail cashless healthcare services at empanelled public and private hospitals under the AB-PMJAY framework.
The DC emphasized the importance of digital health records, and directed the concerned officers to ensure maximum coverage through intensified awareness drives, field-level mobilisation and coordinated efforts among health functionaries.
The Deputy Commissioner further called for improved inter-departmental coordination and real-time monitoring to address implementation gaps and ensure that the benefits of these flagship health schemes reach every eligible citizen.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar; Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tahir Sajad; Medical Superintendents of SKIMS, JLNM Hospital, SMHS Hospital and CD Hospital; the District Tuberculosis Officer; and all Zonal Medical Officers of Srinagar district.
