Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh, has recently announced the establishment of BioE3 Cells across states to serve as interconnected knowledge hubs, linking state and national stakeholders for the effective implementation of the BioE3 policy.
The announcement was made while chairing the "Centre-State Partnership Conclave on BioE3 Policy".
The BioE3 policy, launched last year, aims to promote high-performance biomanufacturing, focusing on the production of bio-based products to address challenges in sectors such as agriculture and climate change.
Highlighting the need for a strong Center-state partnership, Singh emphasized that collaboration through the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) is essential for the policy’s success.
"It is crucial to establish 'BioE3 Cells' in the states in partnership with the Center. These will function as interconnected knowledge hubs, ensuring effective policy implementation," the minister said.
States are encouraged to establish their own BioE3 Cells to align biomanufacturing initiatives with local priorities and resources while remaining connected to national objectives.
This network will integrate emerging technologies, innovative research, and sustainable biomanufacturing practices across the country, fostering regional growth within a national framework.
