Athena Behavioural Health Bags INR 10 Cr to Expand Mental Health Services

The company plans to expand into new cities, launch satellite outpatient clinics, and build institutional partnerships with PSU units and government-linked bodies to address underserved populations.

Athena Behavioural Health, one of India’s fastest-growing mental health and addiction treatment providers, has raised INR 10 Cr in equity funding from Darius Pandole & Associates and existing promoters.

The funding will fuel Athena’s pan-India expansion, strengthen clinical infrastructure, and enhance access to behavioral healthcare.

Founded in 2021 by Dr. Shradha Malik and Rohit Malik, Athena currently operates four advanced centers in Delhi NCR with over 100 beds. The organization offers integrated psychiatric, psychological, and de-addiction services through evidence-based protocols shaped by veteran psychiatrist Dr Ashish Mittal.

“This investment isn’t just capital, it’s fuel for a larger movement,” said Dr Shradha Malik, Founder & CEO, Athena Behavioural Health.

“We’re committed to breaking barriers of access, affordability, and stigma. With this support, Athena will extend its footprint to the North East and South, where quality mental healthcare is still a distant dream.”

The company plans to expand into new cities, launch satellite outpatient clinics, and build institutional partnerships with PSU units and government-linked bodies to address underserved populations.

Moreover, Athena is also laying the foundation for future international expansion into emerging markets facing mental health infrastructure gaps.

“We believe Athena is well-positioned to lead the transformation of behavioral health delivery in India,” said Darius Pandole.

“Their clinical expertise, patient-first approach, and operational scale across Delhi NCR give us strong confidence in their ability to grow responsibly while maintaining care quality.”

This fundraise highlights growing investor appetite in India’s mental health sector, driven by rising awareness, lower stigma, and an urgent demand for scalable clinical services.

Altus Global Advisors acted as the exclusive financial advisor, while Economic Laws Practice (ELP) was the legal counsel for the deal.

Athena also works with marquee institutional clients including PSUs like ONGC, creating a strong B2B revenue stream alongside its direct-to-consumer services.
