Aster DM Healthcare Announces INR 120 Cr Investment for Oncology Radiation LINAC Centers
These centers will offer high-quality radiation therapy to patients from economically weaker sections who cannot afford or continue life-saving cancer treatment.
Aster DM Healthcare, one of India’s largest integrated healthcare providers, announced an INR 120 crore investment to establish five advanced Oncology Radiation LINAC Centers, aimed at providing free and subsidized cancer treatment to underprivileged patients.
The announcement was made on the 39th Foundation Day of the group.
The first center is set to open in Wayanad, Kerala, serving the broader Malabar region, including Gudalore and Gudalpet. The remaining centers will be developed in Bengaluru and other strategic locations across India over the next three years, guided by clinical feasibility and community need assessments.
These centers will offer high-quality radiation therapy to patients from economically weaker sections who cannot afford or continue life-saving cancer treatment. Priority will be given to those who had to discontinue therapy due to financial constraints. Each facility will be equipped with modern linear accelerators and allied treatment technologies.
Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder & Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, said, “No one should be denied the chance to fight cancer with dignity, confidence, and hope. By establishing five state-of-the-art radiation LINAC therapy centers, we aim to bridge critical gaps in oncology services and ensure timely treatment closer to home.”
The initiative is part of Aster Volunteers, the company’s flagship global CSR program focused on community health improvement and socio-economic development. Through this effort, patients from low-income backgrounds will gain access to free or highly subsidized radiation therapy.
The announcement comes amid rising cancer incidence in India, where financial limitations frequently lead patients to halt treatment midway. Aster DM Healthcare’s INR 120 crore commitment seeks to remove cost barriers and improve access to essential oncology care for the underserved population.
