ASG Eye Hospital Targets 700 Centres by 2030 with Rs 2,000 Cr Expansion Plan
Under its Vision 2030 roadmap, ASG aims to scale up from its current base of 175 centres with an aggressive expansion strategy focused on Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, which the company identifies as underserved and high-priority demand clusters.
Super-specialty eye care chain ASG Eye Hospital, backed by General Atlantic and Kedaara Capital, has announced an investment plan of Rs 1,500–2,000 crore to expand its national network to 600–700 centres by 2030, marking one of the largest capacity-building pushes in India’s eye-care sector.
Under its Vision 2030 roadmap, ASG aims to scale up from its current base of 175 centres with an aggressive expansion strategy focused on Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, which the company identifies as underserved and high-priority demand clusters.
A key pillar of this plan is ASG’s target to enter 100 new districts every year, significantly widening its geographical reach. To deepen clinical capabilities across regions, the chain also plans to acquire 8–10 niche ophthalmology practices annually, helping build specialised expertise and strengthen local service delivery. Alongside acquisitions, the group will establish 5–7 new state centres each year to support referral care and advanced procedures.
“Vision 2030 is fundamentally about market disruption through impact. Our significant investment is a declaration that no Indian should lose their sight due to lack of access or financial barriers,” said Dr Arun Singhvi, MD & CEO, ASG Eye Hospital.
He added that the strategy includes leveraging public–private partnerships and tele-ophthalmology models to broaden access and improve early diagnosis in remote regions. These initiatives, according to Singhvi, will help build a scalable infrastructure layer capable of supporting high-volume, quality eye care across the country.
ASG’s expansion plan comes at a time when demand for ophthalmic services is rising due to population ageing, urbanisation, and increased prevalence of lifestyle-linked eye conditions. The company’s accelerated district-level outreach aims to address care gaps in smaller cities, where access to super-specialty ophthalmology remains limited.
With the proposed investment and phased rollout, ASG is positioning itself for one of the fastest network expansions in the eye-care space, supported by a blend of greenfield centres, strategic acquisitions, and digital care models.
