Apollo Speciality Hospitals, OMR, Chennai Appoints Dr Dheeraj Reddy Dantapally as COO
With a strong track record in hospital administration, operations, and strategic leadership, Dr Dheeraj is set to lead the hospital’s core functions, including marketing, business operations, clinical strategy, and regulatory alignment.
Hospital giant Apollo has appointed Dr (Major) Dheeraj Reddy Dantapally (MD, MBA), a former Indian Army medical officer, as the Chief Operating Officer of Apollo Speciality Hospitals, OMR, Chennai.
With a strong track record in hospital administration, operations, and strategic leadership, Dr Dheeraj is set to lead the hospital’s core functions, including marketing, business operations, clinical strategy, and regulatory alignment.
In his new role, Dr Dheeraj will oversee the venture's growth strategy while ensuring continued compliance with frameworks such as NABH and ISO. His leadership is expected to strengthen the hospital’s operational efficiency and patient-focused care delivery.
Prior to joining Apollo, Dr Dheeraj served as the Business Unit Head at Medicover Hospitals, Nellore, where he managed a 350-bed superspeciality facility and a 100-bed cancer institute. Earlier, he held the role of Regional Head, medical Administrator for Andhra Pradesh at American Oncology Institute, where he focused on building oncology operational capabilities across multiple units.
His career also includes leadership tenures at Ivy Healthcare in Amritsar and Max Super Speciality Hospital, along with a decorated administrative stint in the Indian Army. With over a decade of experience across clinical strategy, P&L management, and multi-site hospital leadership, Dr Dheeraj brings a holistic understanding of healthcare operations to Apollo’s executive team.
