Apollo Hospitals' MD Highlights Healthcare Transformation in UP
Apollo Hospitals plans to expand its footprint in the region, with projects underway to double the capacity of its Lucknow facility and advance the construction of a 400-bed hospital in Varanasi.
Suneeta Reddy, managing director of Apollo Hospitals, has emphasized the significant changes in Uttar Pradesh’s healthcare landscape during a recent visit to Lucknow.
Reflecting on her discussions with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Reddy stated that "intent has turned into impact" as she observed ongoing transformation since her initial meeting with the CM in 2018.
“With better infrastructure and expanding hospital networks, UP can emerge as a stronger hub for advanced care and medical value tourism,” she explained.
Reddy praised the state government’s commitment to healthcare, stating, “The government has made significant budget allocations, investing not only in basic healthcare but also in high-end services to ensure quality care is accessible to all.”

''We are doubling our capacity in Lucknow. Then, our 400-bed hospital in Varanasi is in the advanced stages while evaluating Kanpur (as the next destination). We are also there in Noida. So, we are continuing to strengthen our presence in UP,” she added.
Discussing the future of healthcare in UP, Reddy stressed the importance of creating networks that connect larger hospitals with local providers, enabling early detection and alleviating pressure on tertiary care centers.
