Amazfit Launches T-Rex Ultra 2 Smartwatch With Biotracking and 30-Day Battery Life
The device combines outdoor durability with advanced biotracking features, offering up to 30 days of battery life.
Amazfit, the flagship wearable brand of Zepp Health, has launched the T-Rex Ultra 2 GPS smartwatch, designed for use in extreme environments and expeditions. The device combines outdoor durability with advanced biotracking features, offering up to 30 days of battery life.
The smartwatch includes monitoring capabilities for heart rate, sleep quality, blood oxygen levels, breathing rate, and stress. Its sleep-tracking algorithm evaluates sleep stages and breathing patterns to provide detailed insights into rest quality. Users can access health data through the Zepp App, which displays trends and historical comparisons of activity and biometric metrics.
In addition to health monitoring, the T-Rex Ultra 2 supports phone calls and text messaging and is compatible with both Apple and Android smartphones. The device includes built-in GPS, a flashlight, and water resistance up to 100 meters (328 feet) for up to 10 minutes.
Designed for harsh conditions, the smartwatch features a Low Temperature Mode that maintains core functionality in temperatures as low as -22°F (-30°C). The company positioned the device for users who rely on navigation and endurance tracking in demanding outdoor settings.
“With the T-Rex Ultra 2, we focused on building a watch for people who rely on navigation, endurance, and on-watch decision-making in demanding environments,” Scott Shepley, head of global marketing at Amazfit, said in a statement. He added that the device complements the T-Rex 3 Pro within the company’s broader T-Rex lineup, targeting expedition-focused use cases.
The T-Rex Ultra 2 retails for $549.99 and became available for purchase on Feb. 19.
The Larger Trend
In 2024, Zepp Health introduced Zepp OS, its smartwatch operating system integrated with OpenAI’s ChatGPT-4o model. The system includes Zepp Flow, a voice assistant enabling hands-free control without predefined keywords.
That year, Amazfit also partnered with Wild.AI to integrate hormone and cycle tracking features into its wearable devices. Zepp Health later acquired Wild.AI’s core assets and proprietary technology, expanding its women’s health-focused capabilities.
