The tool, backed by AMTRON and the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), Government of India, aims to enhance the identification and management of mental health concerns
An AI-driven mental health self-assessment tool developed by INFIHEAL was introduced at the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) and the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRHIMS).
The tool, backed by AMTRON and the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), Government of India, aims to enhance the identification and management of mental health concerns. It uses AI algorithms to provide individuals with insights into their mental health, allowing for early detection of issues and enabling timely interventions.
The tool's introduction sparks discussions on integrating artificial intelligence into mental healthcare, with a focus on improving accessibility and accuracy in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Days back, the National Institute of Mental Health Rehabilitation (NIMHR) was inaugurated in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, by Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr Virendra Kumar.
Built with an initial project cost of INR 127 Cr, the institute aims to significantly advance mental health rehabilitation services across the country, especially for Divyangjan (persons with disabilities).
NIMHR features state-of-the-art infrastructure and includes four major blocks: the Service Block, Administrative & Academic Block, Hostel Block, and Studio Apartments. The campus is also home to a Cross Disability Early Intervention Centre (CDEIC), which will soon begin operations.
