VDA Approves 400-Bed Apollo Medics Hospital in Varanasi

The project is part of Apollo Hospitals’ larger ₹6,100 crore expansion plan to add more than 3,500 beds across 11 locations in India by FY26. Other planned sites include Mumbai, Chennai, and Gurgaon.

The Varanasi Development Authority (VDA) has approved the building plan for a 400-bed multi-specialty Apollo Medics Hospital in Varanasi.

The proposed project will feature a double basement, ground floor, and seven additional floors. The plan also includes provision for 365 car parking spaces, with dedicated slots for eight ambulances.

With an estimated cost of ₹189 crore, the Varanasi hospital will be Apollo’s first facility in the city.

In Uttar Pradesh, Apollo Hospitals is investing ₹300 crore under the Apollo Medics brand to set up two new hospitals.

Reportedly, the plan includes a 220-bed facility in Lucknow with an investment of ₹124 crore, which will be an extension of the existing hospital in Ashiana.
